Last Thursday, we had a torrential downpour here in Chicago. After work, the rain had stopped for a little while, so I took a walk around the block and took some photos

I was very impressed by this. It’s a new way of resizing images disproportionately without distorting the subject. I reminds me a bit of how computers can speed up audio without increasing the pitch — by cutting out discrete columns of the soundwave, rather than moving all points on the wave closer together.

Apparently the co-inventor of this just got hired by Adobe. Good for him for getting recognized for his talent. Good for us for getting a Photoshop plugin that does this.

So I was biking around Wrigleyville, listening to an EP of remixes of the song Roscoe by Midlake. I was thinking that this EP kicked so much ass, that I’d make a post about it. There are six versions of this one song on the album, and I have yet to get sick of hearing it. At some point, I happened upon Roscoe St. and took a picture. Here is Ryan joining in on a game of “kick around the beach ball” with some new friends at Lollapalooza. This was while we were waiting for Yo La Tengo to come on. Iggy Pop is playing across the way, providing the soundtrack.

Holy crap. Michel Gondry + Jack Black. Not to mention Mos Def. This is my favorite movie already.

Here we are letting Pearl Jam know that they can come back out if they like at Lollapalooza 2007.
